Simpsonville Parks & Rec Wins Local Awards
Heritage Park, Simpsonville Recreation awarded finalist winners in 2023 KABOOM Awards
(Release: Jan. 24, 2023)
Simpsonville, S.C. — The City of Simpsonville and Simpsonville Parks & Recreation Department are excited to announce that Heritage Park and Simpsonville Recreation are finalist winners in the Park and Sports Program categories of the 2023 KABOOM Awards presented by Kidding Around Greenville.
Simpsonville Parks & Rec would like to thank the public for voting for and supporting Heritage Park and its athletics program. The public is invited to celebrate Parks & Rec's accomplishment at The Biggest Birthday Party Bash in Greenville hosted by Kidding Around Greenville on Feb. 24, 2023. Tickets can be purchased on www.kiddingaroundgreenville.com.
Simpsonville Parks & Recreation Director Robbie Davis said Parks & Rec staff and he are honored to have been chosen as finalist winners.
"Parks & Rec staff do what they do for the community and most of all the kids," Davis said. "Our mission is to provide beautiful, safe and inviting parks to explore and athletics programs that give kids the opportunity to both have fun and learn what it means to be a part of a community."
Kidding Around Greenville is an affiliate of Kidding Around Media, the Upstate's largest media resource for families, which announced on Wednesday the winners of their very first KABOOM Family Favorites Awards. Readers voted on their favorite businesses, parks, doctors, childcare providers and camps in the Upstate.
“We are thrilled to announce the winners of our first KABOOM Family Favorites contest and recognize outstanding businesses in the Upstate that our readers just love,” said Bethany Winston, founder and editor of Kidding Around Media, which has resource websites in Greenville, Columbia, Charlotte, and Charleston.
The KABOOM Family Favorites contest consisted of 32 categories and garnered nearly 11,600 votes from readers for their favorite businesses, parks, and healthcare providers in those categories.
Kidding Around Greenville is also celebrating their 10th birthday with Greenville’s Biggest Birthday Bash on Friday, Feb. 24 at The Children’s Museum of the Upstate. It will feature gifts for every kid, lots of goodies from partners and a memorable night celebrating the big milestone for Kidding Around Greenville.
“Kidding Around started out of a desire to help parents find things to do together as a family, to make good memories and to enjoy each other,” Winston said. “We all know how fast the days go as our kids grow up, and we are so proud to have become a trusted resource for parents to make those memories together for the past 10 years in the Upstate.”
