Trash Collection
Trash Can Issue & Replacement Form
Collection Schedule
The City of Simpsonville has a 5-day garbage collection and yard waste route for residents and the core business district that runs Monday - Friday. Trash and yard waste will be collected at the same time on the same routes. Visit the below links to learn what day your trash is picked up via a color-coded map or by street name and see the holiday trash collection schedule:
interactive SIMPSONVILLE SANITATION ROUTES: Visit the following link for a map of trash collection routes: sanitation routes. Selecting a color on the map will display the day of the week that trash is picked up in that area. You can also search your address by selecting the search option in the top right corner.

Trash Pickup Guidelines
Note: the below guidelines apply to only the new black Simpsonville trash cans.
- Trash can must be on the curb by 7 a.m. on your pickup day to be serviced.
- Front of trash can must face the roadside to be serviced.
- All trash must be bagged in a trash bag to ensure that all trash is deposited into the truck and does not end up outside the truck to prevent littering.
- All trash bags must be inside the trash can to be picked up; trash bags are prohibited from being left anywhere outside the can, on the can and on the lid of the can except the week following Christmas Day only.
- Any trash bags or trash that are not inside the trash can will not be picked up; cardboard boxes left outside trash cans will not be picked up.
- Only the new black Simpsonville trash can* automatically delivered at no cost the week of Aug. 23 will be serviced; Public Works will not service any can other than the new black Simpsonville can.
- Do not park motor vehicles in front of the trash can.
- At least 3 feet of clearance from other objects (e.g. vehicles, mailboxes) must be maintained around the trash can to ensure pickup.
Prohibited Items in Trash Can
- Paints, solvents
- Tires
- Propane tanks
- Electronics
- Liquids
- Medical waste
- Batteries
- Dirt, rocks, bricks and concrete
- Yard waste
- Sand
Proper Use of Trash Can
- All garbage must be bagged in the trash can; bagging all garbage ensures that all trash remains inside the garbage truck and off your roads and streets.
- All garbage bags must be placed inside the trash can (except the week after Christmas Day only); routes are more efficiently run when the can contains all trash to be picked up.
- Only black Simpsonville trash cans will be serviced; 1-can collection allows for on-schedule trash pickup.
