Statement on Mill Town Players
Mill Town Players exits lease with City, cancels remaining shows at Arts Center
Simpsonville, S.C. — The Simpsonville Arts Center has been informed by Mill Town Players that the theater group’s board of directors voted on Monday to exit its lease with the City of Simpsonville and cease performances at the Arts Center effectively immediately.
Citing financial constraints, Mill Town Players has canceled its remaining two shows at the Arts Center for 2023 and vacated its space.
“The Simpsonville Arts Center appreciates and recognizes the important role that Mill Town Players played in the Arts Center’s inaugural year,” Arts Center Manager Melissa Sturgis said. “While we are saddened by the departure of Mill Town Players, the Arts Center is excited about the future and exploring opportunities to ensure the continued success of Arts Center programming. The Arts Center and City wish Mill Town Players much success in its future.”
Mill Town Players has requested that questions from patrons be directed to boxoffice@milltownplayers.org.
