Brush: Temporary Exception for Brush Pickup Specs
Brush with diameter greater than 6 inches but length no greater than 3 feet will be temporarily picked up
Simpsonville, S.C. — As part of Tropical Storm Helene recovery, the Simpsonville Public Works Department will temporarily pick up limbs and logs that are greater in diameter than 6 inches but less than or equal to 3 feet in length.
Public Works will continue to pick up brush that is 6 inches or less in diameter and 6 feet or less in length in line with its solid waste management policy. To aid residents in disposing of brush from the storm, Public Works is temporarily including brush that is greater than 6 inches in diameter as long as the brush is no longer than 3 feet. Public Works stresses this exception is temporary.
As storm recovery continues, Public Works is picking up brush generated by only residents and not contractors as the solid waste management policy states. Public Works will not pick up brush generated by businesses. Contractors or residents are responsible for hauling off brush that is not generated by residents.
