Celebrate Simpsonville featured Village People, fireworks show
More than 10K attendees at free concert celebrating Independence Day
(Release: July 5, 2022)
Simpsonville, S.C. — On Sunday night at the CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park, a sea of people sang along with hand movements and all as the world-renowned iconic Village People performed one of the most popular songs of all time: Y.M.C.A.
More than 10,000 people attended Celebrate Simpsonville hosted by the City of Simpsonville to celebrate Independence Day and enjoy free live music and a spectacular fireworks show. After the rain delayed opening of the gates for 45 minutes, Simpsonville residents and visitors crowded into the Amphitheatre, where they listened to full sets by American disco favorite A Taste of Honey and Village People with DJ SHA keeping up the energy throughout the event.
Simpsonville Community Relations Specialist Justin Campbell said the City could not be happier with the success of Celebrate Simpsonville for 2022.
"The rain was no match for the Simply Patriotic spirit throughout the Upstate," Campbell said. "Celebrate Simpsonville is a free event for the whole family that can be enjoyed by music lovers, fireworks enthusiasts and patriots. We are grateful to everyone who joined us, all the staff who made the event possible, Earth FM for promoting the event and Duke Energy for its sponsorship. We can't wait to see what Celebrate Simpsonville has to offer next year."
