Parks & Rec - COVID-19
Activity & Senior Center
- The Activity & Senior Center is open for walking only with limited hours: Monday - Friday at 8 - 10:30 a.m. and 1 - 3:30 p.m.
- Seniors will be allowed to walk in City and Woodside gyms
- Social distancing measures are in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19
- Anyone who is experiencing cold- or flu-like symptoms, such as fever, sore throat, coughing, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing in the last 3 days of visiting the Center or been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days of visiting the Center should not enter the Center
Senior Programming
- Senior programming remains temporarily suspended
Free Meals Program for Seniors
- Parks & Recreation Department and local nonprofit Senior Action have teamed up to provide senior citizens with free meals
- To sign up, seniors 60 years old and older or their family members can call the Activity & Senior Center at 864-967-9533 on Mondays - Fridays at 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Meals will be provided Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Activity & Senior Center in a drive-thru manner outside the center at 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
- Staff will be wearing masks and gloves and practicing social distancing
- Place of residence does not matter

Parks & Playgrounds
- All city parks, playgrounds, public restrooms and shelters are open
- Public is asked to follow guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and S.C. Department of Health & Environmental Control to help prevent the spread of COVID-19
All City of Simpsonville parks, including Alder, City, College and Heritage parks and The Dog Spot reopened April 21.
All City of Simpsonville playgrounds, public restrooms and shelters reopened May 30.
Heritage Park Railway
- The Heritage Park Railway, or replica steam engine train in Heritage Park, is open
- Saturdays 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sundays 1 - 6 p.m.
- $2/person; children under 2 years old ride free
- Social distancing measures will be in place
