Public Works Focusing on Trash & Loose Yard Waste Pickup, Delaying Leaf Pickup
Pause placed on pickup of bagged yard waste, junk/bulk items
Simpsonville, S.C. — In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Helene, the Simpsonville Public Works Department is concentrating efforts on trash, brush and loose yard waste pickup.
A pause has been placed on pickup of bagged yard waste and junk and bulk items until further notice; the pause on bagged yard waste pickup may be a few weeks. Leaf pickup season will be delayed instead of starting the usual Oct. 1.
Trash pickup remains as normally scheduled without changes to any routes. Due to the amount of downed limbs, Public Works crews are focusing on brush pickup as much as possible.
Because efforts are being directed toward trash and brush pickup, Public Works crews are halting junk and bulk item pickup and delaying the beginning of leaf pickup until further notice provided on simpsonville.com and social media sites.
