Celebrate Simpsonville rebranded to 'Simply Freedom Fest'
'Simply Freedom Fest' reflects celebration of Independence Day
Simpsonville, S.C. — In an effort to identify the City of Simpsonville's free July concert and fireworks show with the Fourth of July and Independence Day, the City has rebranded Celebrate Simpsonville to the "Simpsonville Simply Freedom Fest."
For several years, Celebrate Simpsonville has taken place at the CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park on or around the Fourth of July holiday and featured a concert and fireworks show. With free admission to the public, tens of thousands of people from across the country have attended the event.
Former headliners include country music star Rodney Atkins, global phenomenon Village People and country music legend Charlie Daniels.
Simpsonville Community Relations Specialist Justin Campbell said Celebrate Simpsonville was rebranded to the Simpsonville Simply Freedom Fest to ensure the name of the event reflects its true purpose.
"While the Simpsonville Simply Freedom Fest is indeed a celebration of Simpsonville, the concert and fireworks show serve to celebrate the United States of America and the country's independence," Campbell said. "Freedom has been a guiding principle for America since its founding, and the City wanted what was formerly known as 'Celebrate Simpsonville' to acknowledge that principle of freedom, which is also evoked by the event's tagline 'Simply Free.'"
Country music icon Josh Turner will bring his 'Long Black Train' 20th Anniversary Tour to the CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park for the Simpsonville Simply Freedom Fest on July 2, 2023. Following Turner will be a fireworks show extravaganza; opening acts to be announced soon.
Admission is free to public.
