The Simpsonville SIMPLY PROUD. Adopt-a-Street Program is an opportunity for community members to commit to periodic cleanup and removal of litter in Simpsonville. Here are the basics:

  • Who can adopt a street or road? Any individual, family, business, organization or church can participate in Adopt-a-Street.
  • What streets and roads can be adopted? Streets and roads owned by the City of Simpsonville qualify for adoption.
  • Can I pick the street to adopt? Applicants are encouraged to indicate on their applications their preferred street or road that remains available and owned by the City of Simpsonville for cleanup. The final determination of the assigned road is at the discretion of City staff.
  • What are the requirements for adoption? Submission and approval of an application secures the street or road for adoption by the applicant.
  • When is an Adopt-a-Street sign granted? An Adopt-a-Street sign acknowledging the adopting party will be made and installed on the street or road after the applicant has completed one (1) litter cleanup on the applied for or requested street.
  • How often must litter on the street be picked up? To maintain adoption of a street or road, the applicant must perform quarterly pickups that adhere to the following time frames: January-March, April-June, July-September and October-December. An example of a disqualifying pickup schedule is one pickup each in January, February, March and April. The purpose of the program is to ensure litter pickup throughout the year so the pickups must be as equally distributed as possible.
