Jury Duty
Jury Selection
Jurors for Simpsonville Municipal Court are randomly chosen from a database provided by the South Carolina Election Commission and the Department of Motor Vehicles.
If selected for jury duty, you will receive a Municipal Court Juror Response Form along with a self-addressed envelope. Please complete and return the form to Simpsonville Municipal Court as soon as possible.
Reporting for Jury Duty
Please arrive on time and avoid bringing beverages, children, relatives, or friends on your jury duty day.
Upon arrival, you will be directed to a separate courtroom, away from other parties involved in the trial. It is essential that you avoid any conversation with case parties, even if they are relatives.
When the clerk calls your name, be prepared to stand and state your name and occupation. The judge may then ask questions to assess your qualifications to serve.
If you are dismissed or instructed to return the next day, please note the time and location. Attendance will be recorded each morning.
