Bond Information
Arraignments and Bond Options
Arraignments occur at least twice daily, ensuring that individuals appear before a judge within 24 hours of their arrest. During this hearing, the judge evaluates the case and selects one of the following bond options:
Personal Recognizance: The individual is released on their own recognizance, with their signature serving as a guarantee to appear in court on the scheduled date.
Surety Bond: This bond can be satisfied through cash payment, by pledging property within the county where the offense occurred, or by engaging a bondsman to secure release. The person posting the bond is responsible for ensuring the defendant appears in court as required.
Denied Bond: In some instances, the judge may deny bond, requiring the individual to remain in custody until trial.
No Bond: For certain cases, the judge may defer the bond decision to Circuit Court, where it will be determined at a later date.
