1,000 flags in 1 year – US flag retirement drop box collects more than 1,000 flags

Eagle Scout Jake DeStefano installed a U.S. Flag Retirement Drop Box at Veterans Corner on Trade Street in spring 2024 as part of his Eagle Scout project. Eagle Scout Jake DeStefano of Troop 776 installed a U.S. Flag Retirement Drop Box at Veterans Corner for his Eagle Scout project in spring 2024. Because of Mr. DeStefano’s efforts, more than 1,000 flags have been collected by the drop box for proper retirement and disposal according to The U.S. Flag Code.
