Fire Prevention & Community Education
The Fire Marshal’s Office, comprising the Fire Marshal and two Deputy Fire Marshals, is responsible for conducting fire and life safety inspections for businesses within the District. Their goal is to ensure all buildings and tenants comply with the most recent version of the International Fire Code (2021). Follow-up inspections are conducted to verify that any violations have been corrected. All new businesses in the District must undergo an inspection before occupying their building.
The Fire Marshal’s Office also coordinates fire safety, prevention, and educational activities alongside shift personnel.
In partnership with Safe Kids Upstate, the Simpsonville Fire Department provides trained personnel to inspect and install child safety seats in vehicles. These inspections are available two days each month. To schedule, please call the Simpsonville Fire Department at 864-967-9545. Emergency services are also available by calling ahead to confirm personnel availability.
